Hey yall,
if you know anything about me i am a huge nerd who would rather spend his time looking for cool things on the internet than going out and interacting with real people. one of my favorite websites to do this on is motionographer.com
and now through some surreal turn of events, daniel scheinert and i are being featured on their front page with an exclusive interview where daniel and daniel from daniels got a chance to sit down and interview daniels.
make sure to also check out the behind the scenes video!!!!
Congratulations! Really enjoyed the interview/behind the scenes video. I was just wondering, what camera was the video shot with and what program did you used for post? Thanks!
ReplyDeleteHey Lisa! thanks for all of the encouraging words, and taking the time to comment on everything. It's always great to hear what people think.
ReplyDeleteUm, most of everything was shot on either a 5D or a 7D (haha... what else these days..) and all of the post was done in AE and FCP. But if you want to get really nitpicky, we mostly used final cut pro to pick and choose the shots we wanted to do, and then we threw the chosen footage into After Effects and went absolutely nuts with it.
We shot sooo much footage, we literally could have made 5 separate music videos, one for each character. And so, it would have been impossible to cut it all in after effects (And in most cases after effects is terrible/messy for video editing), but there are a few timing things that really make this editing stick out that can only really be done well in after effects... the trade off is you have to be super patient. im pretty sure post work took us a month of coming home from work and just sitting down and editing. my roommate was so sick of the song by the end of it :p blegh, sorry about the ramble. these are some things we meant to say in the interview but never got the chance to.
but if you have any more questions feel free to ask! and also, i checked your blog out, its wicked cute! maybe we (daniels) shall see you around LA.
Hehe, thanks for the thorough answer! It's always so interesting to find out how things are made. See you around maybe!
ReplyDeleteI read about you heading to NY (?) to make a music video. What's the scoop there? Miss you, brother.
